Email Subject with Popup

Neil,

I noticed that when I use the popup message (which I think is awesome) I do not have the option to customize the subject. The popup apparently pulls the subject line from the name of the page for that instance of the module.

It would really be nice to have either a custom subject set up by the admin or a blank subject that can be filled in by the person submitting the email to a friend.

One last thing...on either popup and simple/simple+ would it be possible to just have a "send" or "submit" button?

Terry

Oh...one last future upgrade suggestion...On another website I frequent they track how many suggestions/invitations a given user has sent and their subscription is automatically extended for six months every time five people join the site. I'm not sure how this is implemented but it is a great option to motivate users to invite others.

Re: Email Subject with Popup
Hello Terry,

Thanks for your suggestioins. I'll add in the subject option, for now I'll pick the admin config.

Sounds like Janet needs to produce a subscription module. I'm afraid that will have to wait. I'll look into extending the Referme! module to add a unique reference for each recommendation. Adding the option of tracking the number of clicks and date, as used in the DNN document module, may also be an option.

Regarding the Send button, this is either taken from the language resource file, or the value which has been set against Submit Text, as in the original Simple configuration, what language is your browser set to and which browser are you using?

Neil,

English/IE 7...

A subscription would be nice....just wanted to give you feedback. I really like the module and it is working fine; but with so many things there is always room for improvement.

Terry

Re: Email Subject with Popup
Thanks Terry,

Always good to get feedback. As you say there is always room for improvement. It was my first module, initially very simple. Many of the later additions and changes have been based on requests from those who have bought it.

Re: Email Subject with Popup

I just installed v01.00.07 (1/26/07), on DNN 4.3x.  I do not see any option for "style", and as such, no way to use the pop-up, or for the referrer to enter his own name/email address.

What do I need to do?

Re: Email Subject with Popup
Hello Levi,

Apologies for that, the module was updated at the beginning of last month, the patch being issued at the time. Unfortunately, the update to the package download was overlooked.

I've now corrected this, adding a copy of version 01.00.08 for download.

Let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Neil.

Ney Neil. Bought this module last week through snowcovered. The version I got was 01.00.07 - where do I get 01.00.08?

Re: Email Subject with Popup
Hello,

I updated the download to 01.00.10, yesterday. I need to release a ptach for this version, but have been a little way laid with customer support issues so far this morning. Not entirely sure where this morning is disappearing to.
