Hi there,
I just installed the Marquee (janet.Marquee_01.00.12) as well as the colour picker and I'm having some trouble getting it to work with an RSS feed. First of all, the configuration does not exactly match the configuration of the sample Marquee on your site. Mine seems to be missing an option to select the Source. In the config for the example on your site, there is an option between Style and Marquee Speed to select the source. That does not show up in my configuration. I just have the Style dropdown and then the Message-1 text box, Link-1 etc. and then the Marquee Speed drop down. Where do I choose to set up the Source as an RSS feed? Also, I can see where if I have the Janet Articles module installed it will show up in Link to Janet Module, but what is the Category drop down used for?
Thanks for your help,
- Howard

Hello Howard,
The new version, which you have seen on the Janet website whould be out later on today or tomorrow.
I have configuration layout, grouping items according to the view style - hopefully this will be more logical and easier to use.
The module currently integrates with the article module and 3 others which are not made available for sale. The category allows a category to be shown, rather than all of the available items. As an example it may be used to show DotNetNuke articles only.

Thanks for your reply Neil.
So then when I get the update (asuming I can since I purchased the module yesterday) will I have everything I need to use the Marquee to display RSS feeds?

Hello Howard,
Caught up with the final items on the module. The update (janet.Marquee_01.00.13) has now been published and added to the Snowcovered patches for download.
The RSS feed that you wanted is in there. Getting an update should not be a problem.
Best Regards

Excellent! Thanks Neil, it works like a charm. Thanks also for the quick response.
I did notice something interesting however. When you click on an rss feed link, actually even when you just "mouse over" the link, the sliding text speeds up, getting faster and faster until it becomes unreadable. This only happens in Mozilla Firefox and not in Internet Explorer. I haven't checked any other browsers.
The settings I have are: Style: Sliding Source: RSS Marquee Speed: 10 Pause duration: 0
Thanks again,
- Howard

Hello Howard,
Glad it works. I'll look into the scrolling issue.

Hello Howard,
I have investigated the scrolling issue. I want to do some more testing but should have an update released either today ot tomorrow.

Thanks Neil, that would be great. When it speeds up in Firefox, my customer thinks it looks like one of those silly banner ad games (Catch the Monkey/NewsFeed). In the mean time, everything works great on I.E.
