RSS title/links misaligned

When I feed a major newschannel's RSS doc URL into the ticker, it looks great, but each story's headline, when clicked, links to the story before it. I think this may be because most RSS feeds lead off with a link to the main site, and it looks like the janet.marquee is reading that as the first link and assigning it to the first headline, thereby offsetting all the articles and links by one. Is there a solution to this? How have others made it work?

Also, I'd like RSS links to open in a new window — is that possible?

Thanks,

Kristina

Re: RSS title/links misaligned

Hello Kristina,

Thanks for the symptoms regards the issue, and the suggestion for the misalignment. I'll see what I can do later on today, but more likely tomorrow morning (I'm committed on a couple of meetings for most of today).

Regarding the open in new window - I need to check the options and come back to you on that one. If not I'll add it in whilst resolving the other issue.

Re: RSS title/links misaligned

Hello Kristina,

The code was expecting the details for an item to be link followed by description. I have now corrected this. An update will be posted on Snowcovered shortly.

Regards

Neil

Re: RSS title/links misaligned

Neil,

That's terrific! You're quick... thanks very much. I'm not sure how updates work on Snowcovered — will there be a notice there that the updated version is available? Do we check out as a new purchase and then reinstall the module? I feel like I shouldn't bother you with questions about Snowcovered, but this seems like it may be rather specific to this instance, so I'm not sure who else will know for certain.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to using Marquee again!

Kristina

Re: RSS title/links misaligned

Hello Kristina,

The patch update notification ought to have come through from Snowcovered. Login, select patches and hotfixes and select the patch to download. Beware - Snowcovered limit the number of downloads to 3.

Regarding updatng the module, simply follow the same process as before, the module will over-write the existing version.

If you have any further questions - please don't hesitate in contacting me.

Neil
