The janet.SkinLinks DotNetNuke module is an interesting concept - define a page link without knowing the tab id.

Having developed many DotNetNuke skins we found a need to be able to define links for such pages as sitemap and contact us within the skin. However, it would not be until later that we would know the associated tab id for the page. Simply add the SkinLink module to the skin, define the name by wich your tag will be known. When the skin is viewed, if the user has the correct permissions all the necessary work will be done to show the link.
