Add a scrolling Marquee to your website. This module allows up to 5 messages or links to be configured within the module. As an alternative it can be integrated with other modules from Janet Systems.
The following Marquee styles are supported:
- Scroll - message appears from the bottom edge, scrolls up, and disappears through the top edge
- Sliding - message slides continuously from right hand edge and disappears via the left hand edge
- Ticker - the characters of the message are added one at a time in ticker-tape style, with a cursor shown at the end where the next character will appear
There are 3 choices for the source of your module:
- 5 links textboxes
- RSS feed
- Link to selected Janet module.
The configurable items are: the Marquee style/presentation including colours, links and text style. Up to 5 messages with links can be configured within the module, alternatively it can be integrated with another Janet Systems module. The settings for the module are shown in the image below.
- Select the style of Marquee from Sliding or Scroll or Ticker.
- Use the Message boxes to add up to 5 messages that will appear in the Marquee. When adding your messages, always start at message #1, going on to message box #2, #3 ... #5. The messages must be sequential starting from message #1, even if you want less than 5 messages.
- Each message can have an optional URL link associated with it if required. Add the link into the appropriate Link box; Link #1, #2 #3 etc. Note, to add a link, there must be an associated message.
- The Speed box allows you to rate at which each message flows through the Marquee. Different speeds will suit different styles and locations on the website. Select a low number for a high flow through the Marquee. Select a higher number for a slower speed through the Marquee.
- Customise the presentation using the Border, Background and Text colour selction boxes.
- Width and height. set the size of the scrolling area to display. It is recommended that these two parameters are set. Different browsers may otherwise render the area differently.
- CSS Class. Set the class to be used for the marquee, overrides the settings for background, border and font colours.
- Debug Level - Used by us when developing and testing modules, this provides access to parameter values.
As an alternative to placing messages in your Marquee, the Marquee module can be used to link to another Janet Systems Module. For example using Marquee in conjunction with the janet.Articles Module will allow you to display articles through the Marquee. If these associated modules have been installed onto your DotNetNuke server, and made available to your current website then they will be presented as options in the Janet Module selection box. A related category may also be selected from the category box.
The settings for the module are shown in the image below.
