 HTML Articles

HTML supports a number of built-in text formatting styles. These are implemented using the usual style of opening and closing tags.

<ADDRESS></ADDRESS>

Content within this tag pair will typically be the contact postal address. Like the
tag the content is separated from the flow of text, placing it on a new line, with a gap above and below.

<BLOCKQUOTE></BLOCKQUOTE>

The blockquote tag is used to group a quotation, or reference, from another piece of work together. Like the
tag the content is separated from the flow of text, placing it on a new line, with a gap above and below. In addition a block quote will be indented.

<CODE></CODE>
The aim of this tag is to render computer code in a particular way. Typically it is only used for short pieces of text. For larger pieces the PRE> tag is used. The text is shown in monotype.

<PRE></PRE>

Use this tag to preserve the formatting of the
text you wish to include. The text will be shown
in monospaced font with all spaces and line
breaks preserved.
