Note that the following article is only relevant to the version 1 of DotNetNuke.

If you opt to 'Edit Container' for a given module, click both 'Set Default' and 'Set Global' and then proceed to perform an Update having deleted the entire content of the container definition - you will no longer be able to login to your site due to an index out of range on an array.

The easiest fix is to login as host on another portal and select SQL from the Host menu; this presents you with a text box to enter SQL and execute it.

1. LOCATE EMPTY CONTAINER DEFINITIONS.

Execute the following SQL to give you a list of container module settings which need updating (should only be one unless you have made the same mistake on more than one portal).

SELECT ModuleID WHERE SettingName= 'container' AND SettingValue= ''

Make a note of the ModuleID values returned (pls note it is possible to perform this fix with one peice of SQL - separating the solution like this though gives the novice user more confidence in what they are doing and allows then to ensure that they
