With the version 2 of DotNetNuke the Recycle Bin was introduced. When modules are deleted from a page they are held within the recycle bin. Be sure to occasionally take a look, thus ensuring that the number of items inis kept to a minimum. If you are sure that a module instance is no longer required then remove it.

With fewer unwanted items within your DotNetNuke database it would be expected to run more efficiently. Also when you do delete an item in error and want to restore it, determining which one of those listed is the one to restore will be much clearer.
