DotnetNuke is designed such that those who are writting the content for the web site do not require knowledge of, or access to ftp packages. Images and documents for display on the web site are transferred from the local computer to the web site using the File Manager. This tab is accessed from the drop down list on the Admin tab.
Sometimes it may be better to prepare the images which you wish to display and upload them to your web site, before you commence the work of providing the text or other content, depending on which module you are adding/editing. It can be frustrating to be part way through making an edit only to realise that this needs to be put on hold whilst the necessary file is uploaded.
The File Manager is used to administer existing files or upload files from your computer to your web site. Adding an image to the web site for use on one of your pages may be completed in just a few simple steps. It is possible to either select several files to upload in one go. Or the files may be wrapped up into a zip file which will be unzipped when they have been uploaded.
As usual we begin by placing the mouse over the pencil icon and selecting the add option.

Select Add
We now need to select each individual file to be uploaded, or the zip package. Click on the browse button, find the file on your local computer and then click add. Don't ofrget to ensure that the Content radio button is selected.
