The DotNetNuke Discussion Module provides a simplified thread based discussion, similar to those found in news groups and on some forums. Follow-up messages, or the creation of a new thread,  may only be done by registered users.

In the usual way we begin by placing the mouse over the pencil for the module. From here we are able to select to create a new thread. The main dialogue, for which, is shown below. As can be seen we are able to create a title and provide some content for the thread.

Having created the thread item this may be viewed by clicking on its title. Dependant upon out login permissions a number of possible actions will be presented below the itme details, these include: Cancel, Reply, Edit and Delete.

 If we are a registered user then we are able to create a reply to the selected item, note the additional reply option, this is illustrated below.

The module as it appears on the page, showing the original thread, together with a reply. The title provides a hyperlink to the detail relating to that item in the thread.
